Parenting Support Groups

Sometimes, just talking with someone else who is going through the same experiences as you can help you cope. Get advice and support from one of PinnacleHealth’s parenting classes or support groups.

Having a baby is a life-changing experience, one that can seem overwhelming at times. Even if you have older children, you may find that you have questions or concerns, or just need a place where you can talk with other parents having the same experience.

PinnacleHealth supports you after your baby is born with several parenting classes and support groups. These groups meet regularly, both at PinnacleHealth location and off-campus, to give parents a safe place to interact with each other. Group meeting times and places can change, so call to confirm before you plan to attend a group.

Perinatal Bereavement

If you have lost a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death, the feelings of grief, helplessness, shock and numbness can be overwhelming. The loss of a child is the loss of a dream of the future, and everyone has his or her own way of working through it.

PinnacleHealth’s Perinatal Bereavement Services can help families mourning the loss of a baby. Nurses trained in grief counseling provide support and information at the time of the loss and provide continuing support as needed throughout the year. We also provide a number of helpful remembrances, specialized services and written materials for family members to use as they work towards healing.
