PinnacleHealth's Online Childbirth Education Program is a convenient alternative for expectant parents who cannot attend a conventional prepared childbirth class due to bed rest, scheduling conflicts or time constraints. It is also useful as an additional resource to have at home when you need it or as a refresher course for repeat parents. The interactive web-based online learning program includes animated illustrations, videos, voice-overs, and games.

There are two ways to access the online childbirth education program:

1. As An Addition to Traditional Childbirth Education Classes

Register for a Lamaze Childbirth or Prepared Childbirth Class, or a Weekend Lamaze or Weekend Childbirth Seminar. The online program is available, for an additional fee, to parents who take these classes and is based on The Gift of Motherhood book which you will receive in at your first class; the book comes with an online access code, which gives provides access to the online program for 3 months after the first log-in. Students who have questions will continue to have access to a childbirth educator, even after classes have ended.
To take advantage of this additional resource at a special reduced fee, parents must register for a childbirth class and the online class at the same time.

Registration fee:

$20 in addition to the in-person childbirth class fee.

2. As An Alternative to Traditional Childbirth Classes

The PinnacleHealth Online Childbirth Education Program is also available as an alternative for parents who cannot attend an in-person childbirth class. After registering and paying for the course, the Education Department will mail a course access code with a confirmation letter and a copy of The Gift of Motherhood book. The code is valid for 3 months after the first log-on. With this option, parents still have access to a certified childbirth educator to answer questions.
