Of course you always hear a few "horror" stories from friends' on their experiences giving birth, but you really don't know what your actual experience will be. So, I was quite anxious the day I was told to go to PinnacleHealth Hospital for immediate induction."
"The Labor and Delivery department was busy that day, but they accommodated me immediately and found a bed to start the induction. Throughout my entire labor experience, the nurses and doctors were there monitoring my every step. I was really impressed how they took every concern of mine seriously. They were very attentive, which was reassuring to someone that was anxious about the process from the beginning. It helped me to relax and know that I was in good hands and they were going to listen to all of my concerns whether they were small or big. It's one thing if a hospital can take care of your basic needs, but it's another thing when they sincerely listen to you as an individual. The experience was very personal-which is what I think every patient dreams of having. In the end, it made my labor experience so much more enjoyable and less stressful."
"Another important part of the labor and delivery process was the recovery. When I was sent down to the recovery area, I was tended to with great care. I was soo impressed with the "recovery" nurses. They were very kind and helped me to get comfortable. I felt like I had a sister or mother in the room rather than a nurse. There are so many aspects of recovery-there's the physical part, but then there's the emotional side and then there's also the new experience of caring for a newborn. The nurses were able to help me on every level of recovery. I felt like I could leave the hospital with confidence that I was going to be a great mom."
