"It all started the day before Jazzmine was born...
Baby's Birth Date: June 4, 2005
Baby's Weight: 6 pounds, 10 ounces
Baby's Height: 19.25 inches
Harrisburg, PA
I was at work talking with some co-workers about wanting to go into labor soon, because I was ready for her to come and meet her big sister, and because I had tried everything else to go into labor, from showers, to walking (I walked from my house down to Front Street in Harrisburg, across to City Island and all around the island, back across to Front Street did all of Front Street and back up Mulberry Street to my street, and that was a good hike!)."
"They started a Baby Pool as to when I was going to have this little one, as from my last due date I was overdue. A gentlemen who has since passed away named Jim told me of when his wife was pregnant with their son how she craved Pepperoni Pizza from Pizza Hut. So they went to dinner and had Pizza Hut Pizza. Well a few hours after she had the pizza her water broke and she was in labor.
So we decided to have Pizza for lunch, and around 2 in the afternoon of June 3rd I ate Pepperoni Pizza from Pizza Hut. Poppa Jim as we have called him since, decided to Pick June 3rd and 4th on the baby pool!"
"Well that evening I still did not think that it was going to work. So my oldest daughter and I went up to bed. At about 3 a.m. I got up to use the bathroom, and as I sat up MY WATER BROKE! I called my mother who came and got me and my daughter and we headed down to the hospital."
"When I got there my midwife came in and examined me and said that I was going to have a baby today! I was soooooo scared, even though I had already had one child, I was more afraid to have this one. I called everyone to let them know. My mom stayed with me, and her husband came and got my daughter. Soon after Jazzmine's father arrived, and between my mother and him I had two good coaches!"
"My father and his wife arrived, and boy was she shocked when I asked her if she wanted to stay in the room with me and witness Jazzmine being born. The nurse asked everyone how much they thought the baby was going to weigh, and everyone was picking 7 to 8 pounders! I was scared really scared of having a 8 pounder! I told the nurse that she was going to weigh a half ounce more than my oldest daughter who weighed 6lbs 9.5ozs."
"So it came time for me to start pushing and I did not want to, my midwife was there with me all the way! She talked to me and told me that I can do this, she coached me and encourgaged me and was straight with me and told me that I did not want to have to go in for a C-section, after about an hour I was ready to really start pushing."
"Jazzmine was born! She was finally here! After hours of pain! She was finally here! She weighed 6lbs 10ozs! Exactly what I said! A mother knows, as I carried her for 9 months!"
"After I got situated in a room, my mom brought my oldest daughter to meet her new sister! Right away it was a bond stronger than no other, little Jazzmine grabbed ahold of her big sister's hand who was turning 8 the following month and really has not let go yet! Still to this day they are close not in age but in bond! They are my 2 peas in a pod!"
"That is my labor story. "
