"This was my third baby and so I felt confident that I was indeed in labor when I arrived at the hospital around 10 pm...

Baby Weight: 7 pounds, 13 ounces  7
Baby Height : 20 inches

I wasn't in much discomfort, although I was contracting every 90 seconds or so."

"My nurse got me settled in and after checking on the baby and confirming that I was 4 cm dilated, I began to roam the hall in the hopes that walking would bring on stronger contractions. Around midnight, I was surprisingly still feeling pretty good even though I'd progressed to 5 cm. I mentioned to the nurse that I wanted to get "the show on the road" and so she asked if I wanted to see if the doctor would break my water for me. I instantly agreed because I knew that all my babies arrived not too long after my water broke and I didn't look forward to being up all night in labor!"

"The doctor came and broke my water for me, which ended up being a VERY messy experience, but my nurse handled it with ease and almost immediately, I began laboring much harder. I didn't want any other medical interventions, so I requested to get into the tub to try to mitigate some of the pain. Despite how good the water felt, I just couldn't get comfortable as the contractions were getting very close and much more intense. I spent the remainder of my labor (about an hour) standing in my room, using my husband as a support through the contractions. "

"My nurse was there the whole time, making sure I was doing okay since I was progressing so rapidly. All at once, I just knew that I needed to push and I got on the bed. She checked and found that I was fully dilated. She called for the attending doctor, but he was resting in the on call room at the other end of the hall and there just wasn't any time."

"The nurse had my husband open the door and tell the nurses at the station that she needed help and they all came running! With only time to put on one glove, she delivered my baby boy safely (with two pushes from me) at 2:13 am. The doctor did arrive a minute or two later, but he missed all the fun! "
