“Talk about surprised! I had my 6-week check up on April Fools Day, and they put me on the NuvaRing for birth control...

Birth Date: January 8, 2007
Weight: 6 pounds, 13 and 1/4 ounces
Height: 17 and 3/4 inches
York Haven, PA

My OB tells me for the 1st month use another form of birth control along with the NuvaRing, until my body will get used to the birth control”

“So, I get a call 3 weeks later from my OB that I tested positive for high grade Cancer cells and I need to come in to the office. My husband and I go in and the doctor tells me that I need to have a Colposcopy done. We go home with all the info I needed to have; our heads are swimming ... of course we are scared about Cancer. Well, I have the Colpo done, and they tell me that I have to have a LEEP procedure done. The day I was supposed to have my pre op blood work done; I felt really sick to my belly. I had been feeling that way for about 3 weeks, but I chalked it up to nerves.”

“I went to the Dollar Store on the way to my blood work appt, and bought a pregnancy test. I figured it’s only a buck and it will be negative anyway. Elijah was only 11 weeks old; there was no way I was pregnant again. WRONG!!! I took the test in the bathroom of the Dollar Store, and the minute my pee hit the stick both lines were there. I call the doctor and they get me in right away. They did a urine test, and it was positive. They sent me next door to Tristan for an ultrasound right away, and there she was ... Heart beating. My heart melted … I was in love again!”

“Well, fast forward … the pregnancy was not an easy one. My body wasn’t even healed from Elijah … Hubby and I were scared; the kids would not even be a year apart! How was I going to love another baby?”

“Well, I go to the doctor in November, and they did an ultrasound and my fluid was high. They did a follow up 2 weeks later and my fluid was higher. The doctors are worried because my fluid was in the high 30's. I go back in December and I had another ultrasound and fluid was still very high. The end of December I had another ultrasound and my fluid 40. They said Jen, if you are still that high next week (January 2nd) we are going to do an Amniocentesis and see if her lungs are ready.

“On January 2nd, my fluid was 42. That Friday (January 5th), I had my amnio and 45 minutes after I had it done, I got a call from the doctor … ‘be at the hospital Monday at 11’! I said ‘WHAT?’ She is going to be early! My due date was January 30th and Monday was January 8th! He said she will do better out than in. I cried, and said ok.”

“Hubby and I spent the weekend getting things ready for her. Monday came, (which was the 5th anniversary of my Dad passing away) ... We left home, got to the hospital. They prepped me, took me down to the OR; hubby got ready and came in. They started the C-section. The doctor said here she comes, and out she popped! SCREAMING!! Daddy walked over, cut her cord, they cleaned her up and Daddy brought her over to me, and we both cried!”

“Emileigh is a beautiful 11-month-old baby girl, who, along with her brother (who is 10 1/2 months older), are the lights of our life! Thank you to Harrisburg Hospital you guys are the best!!!”
