Since I pre-registered and called ahead of time, I was able to be taken to a room right away. We arrived at the hospital around 4 p.m. The room was very nice. I had a beautiful view of the river and the South Bridge.”

“Like I said, it was insanely busy that evening. My labor was progressing fairly quickly. It took a little bit until I had a nurse assigned to me due to the amount of people. I was already 4 c.m. d ilated when we first arrived at the hospital. My contractions were becoming increasingly painful. A nurse asked if I wanted to try out the Jacuzzi. It felt fantastic. It really helped me relax, surprisingly. After relaxing in the tub for an hour or so, I finally had a nurse assigned to me. I got out of the tub and she hooked me up to the monitors to check everything out. I had already increased to 7 cm. I decided to get the epidural at about this time. The rest of my labor was great.”

“When it was time to push, I found the nurses were extremely supportive, helpful, and encouraging. I really appreciated all the effort they put forth. I had a beautiful baby boy after pushing for about 45 minutes. He was born at 11:30 p.m. on his daddy's birthday! I needed no stitches and felt great after the delivery. The only part that sucked was that I had to spend the night in the delivery room after giving birth because all of the other rooms were full from so many mothers. I went home in 1 1/2 days feeling good. I had a wonderful experience.”
