The doctor checked me. I was 1.5 cm dilated. It was really no big deal because they didn't seem like contractions. We set up a C-section for April 21st because I was breach.”
“That night my husband and I went out to eat and bought some things at Babies R Us. Tuesday morning I woke up around 3:30 a.m. to the same mild cramping. By 4:30, the pain intensified and it was off and on. I figured it was contractions and started timing. At 5a.m., my husband woke up and asked what I was doing. He was mad that I didn't wake him up sooner. We called the doctor. The midwife called us back and said we could come in or wait it out. We arrived at the hospital at 5:45. She checked me and I was 3cm. She said we were having a baby that day.”
“While laying there, my water broke at 6 a.m. I was having intense pain. They called the doctor and he was just getting off the elevator. He came in his street clothes and checked me around 6:30 and I progressed to 8cm in that 45 minutes! From there, everything happened so quickly. I was wheeled to the operating room and Aidyn was born via c-section at 7:03a.m.”
“Everyone was so nice during the entire operation. They all explained everything that was happening to me in detail. I went to the recovery room for an hour after the surgery and was allowed to breastfeed Aidyn for the first time. I stayed four days in the hospital. The nurses really took their time to show us how to bathe Aidyn, how to breastfeed, how to change diapers, how to install the car seat, etc. Without them, I would have felt completely lost, as this is our first child. We felt comfortable leaving the hospital with the knowledge we gained from the nurses throughout our stay.”
